At Roseberry we offer a number of options for your child to begin their journey into school. Children on our Nursery list will be given the option of starting in Nursery the half term after their third birthday.
The options we offer are;
- Mornings 8.30-11.30am
- Afternoons 12.15-3.15pm
- Two and a half days for working parents – All day Monday/Tuesday and Wednesday morning or Wednesday afternoon, all day Thursday/Friday.
- 30 hour places if you are eligible. (9.00am – 3.00pm Monday to Friday)
Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. Children who stay all day may bring a packed lunch or can have a school meal which are £2.05 a day.
We endeavour to build positive relationships from the start with all our children and their families, we therefore offer home visits, Nursery setting visits and ‘Stay and play’ sessions prior to your child starting Nursery. This is to allow you to meet Mrs Haslam, the Nursery teacher and our PSA Gemma Greiveson-Jones. It also gives you the opportunity to discuss any queries or concerns and to ask any questions. A member of the Nursery team will then visit your child if they already attend another setting, this is to enable a smooth transition and to allow children to become familiar with the Nursery staff before they start. You will then be invited to three ‘Stay and play’ sessions which you can attend with your child, this is to give you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the setting and have a look at the activities we provide for the children. We have found that children who have already met the staff and attended ‘Stay and play’ sessions are more settled and secure when they start Nursery.
Please have a look at the Nursery section on this website for photos of some of the lovely things we have been doing.
If you would like to register your child for Roseberry Nursery please pop in to the office and collect a form, we will then contact you prior to your child’s third birthday to discuss a start date.
