Physical Education Lead: Miss Fletcher

“Physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities.” – (National Curriculum)

At Roseberry, our physical education curriculum gives children the tools and understanding required to make a positive impact on their physical health and wellbeing. Children will experience a variety of sports and physical skills, leading to them becoming physically confident and encouraging good habits for life-long fitness. We recognise that physical activity also underpins a child’s cognitive and social and emotional development as well as understanding the role that this can play in a child’s spiritual, moral and cultural growth.

At the heart of our PE curriculum lies the characteristics of our bespoke avatars: passion, resilience, self-esteem, teamwork, innovation and aspirations which are integral to the teaching of physical education and the wider curriculum.

Our curriculum offer will provide opportunities for all pupils, including those with SEND, to access a varied and flexible teaching style in a supportive environment. Through our provision, children have the opportunity to flourish and develop their own talents and abilities.
